Is Scotland a cool place to live, if so what are the best areas?
It is very cool! ;)
Seriously though, it is a wonderful place. I’ve lived here my whole life, never really left the country, and it continues to take my breath away. The landscapes are spectacular, the people are lovely, and we have Irn Bru. ‘Nuff said. It does have its fair share of bad points (probably more than its fair share tbh) but doesn’t everywhere?
In my opinion, the Cairngorm National Park area is the best place in Scotland. It has many outdoor sports and facilities, plenty of walks to keep you busy for a lifetime, and it is generally a stunning area. I also love Skye, Fort William, Ullapool, Mallaig (just stayed there on holiday last week, lovely wee place), Inverness, Glasgow, Edinburgh… There are so many places. It just really depends on personal preference. If you are a fan of the outdoors, then the Highlands would probably be the best place for you. If you like more of the urban setting then the Edinburgh or Glasgow areas may be more suitable.
I hope you find this helpful :)
DO YOU THINK THIS IS A FUCKING JOKE SCOTRAIL?
“A series of special train station signs are being put up around Scotland to mark the Commonwealth Games.
Passengers will be alighting at Cambus LangJump, Muscleburgh, Sprintburn, Ding-Ding!wall, Longerniddry, Falkirk Higher and Polevault.”
hey! I'm coming to Scotland this summer and I was wondering if you can recommend anything I should do that has got to do with medieval/castles/dressing up?
Hey! Sorry if this reply is really late, I’ve had no access to a computer for a few weeks and the app is pretty “meh” when it comes to notifications.
If you’re looking for castles then Edinburgh Castle would be the obvious one. However, there are loads of castles you can visit. There’s Urquhart Castle on the banks of Loch Ness, Stirling Castle, among others, some ruins, some not. There’s a whole Wikipedia page with a list of castle in Scotland, which would be a great resource. It is called “List of Castles In Scotland”. I’d add the link but I’m on my phone unfortunately. Sorry! :(
As for dressing up I’m positive there are more than a few places out there where you can do it, not just at castles. You’ll have to look the castle/attraction website up or phone to see if they do dressing up, unless it is stated on their website. A lot of the major, popular castles have websites telling you about different events they are running.
I hope this helped!
